Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach that uses principles of behavior to understand how learning takes place by observing how behaviors are affected by the enviornment.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBAs) employee behavioral strategies influenced by these principles to increase, maintain and generalize socially significant behaviors and decrease the occurrence of maladaptive behaviors.
As BCBAs, we aim to build independence by strengthening language development, socialization, cognitive functioning, and self-helping skills, thereby, reducing challenging behaviors that often occur as a result of delays in communication and social understanding.
