Steps to Starting ABA Services

  1. Assessment and Evaluation: The first step is to schedule an assessment or evaluation. During this process, one of our highly-qualified Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) will evaluate the your child’s needs, strengths, and areas for improvement. They will gather information through observations, interviews, and assessments to develop an individualized treatment plan.

  2. Insurance Verification: If you plan to use insurance to cover ABA services, it is important to verify your insurance coverage. Contact your insurance provider to determine if ABA therapy is a covered service and to understand any specific requirements or authorizations needed.

  3. Treatment Plan Development: Based on the assessment results, a BCBA will develop a personalized treatment plan. This plan outlines specific goals, strategies, and interventions tailored to your child’s needs.

  4. Authorization and Funding: If required by your insurance, the BCBA may submit the treatment plan for authorization or approval. This step ensures that the proposed services meet the criteria set by the insurance company. Once authorized, funding or financial arrangements can be established.

  5. Therapist Assignment: We will assign a qualified therapist or team of therapists based on your child’s needs and availability. The BCBA and the assigned therapist will work closely with your child and family to implement the treatment plan.

  6. Initial Session and Data Collection: The first session typically involves meeting the therapist, discussing goals with the BCBA, and establishing rapport. The therapist will start collecting data to track progress and the BCBA will make data-driven decisions for ongoing treatment.

  7. Ongoing Therapy and Progress Monitoring: ABA services are typically provided on a regular basis, often in the form of structured therapy sessions. The therapist will implement various techniques, interventions, and behavior management strategies outlined in the treatment plan. Progress will be regularly monitored by the BCBA, and the treatment plan will be adjusted as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
